(This message has been approved by the Academic Registrar for transmission to all students enrolled in courses delivered in Semester 2, 2015.)

 Dear Student
The University’s enrolment records indicate you are currently enrolled in Semester 2, 2015. The following information is intended to assist you to manage that enrolment.
Please note the Semester 2 Census Date:  Monday, 31 August 2015.
  • Your enrolment must be finalised by Monday, 31 August 2015.
  •  Census date is the last date to cancel courses without incurring HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP or tuition fee liability.
  • If you are enrolled in a course at midnight on the census date you will incur financial liability for the course.
  • If you drop courses after the census date but before 30 September 2015, you will incur financial liability but no academic penalty (i.e. you will not receive a grade for the course).
  • The University does not normally allow students to enrol in courses after the census date.  Where late enrolment in a course is approved after the census date, Commonwealth Supported students are required to pay full tuition fees upfront and cannot access HECS-HELP or FEE_HELP for the course. The University has no discretion to allow courses to be added on a Commonwealth supported basis after the census date.

Please ensure your enrolment details are correct by census date by checking your program and courses through your mySI-net home page (http://www.my.uq.edu.au) and following these simple steps.

  1. Drop all the courses you do not wish to study in Semester 2, 2015.
  2. You may also be enrolled in one or more teaching periods linked to semester 2, which have different Census dates. You can check these Census dates at http://www.uq.edu.au/myadvisor/teaching-periods or http://www.uq.edu.au/startingatuq/important-dates.
  3. Complete all your outstanding tasks on mySI-net by checking the boxes on the right-hand side of your mySI-net home page.  Failure to add required information here can prevent finalisation of your enrolment.
  4. Ensure that your mailing address, permanent home address and contact telephone number are correctly recorded on your mySI-net

    • - Australian mobile numbers are preferred and should be recorded as 10 digits without gaps (eg 0412345678 not 0412 345 678 or 0412-345-678.)
    • - Permanent home address must be your actual address. Post Office boxes, places of employment or University addresses are not acceptable.
    • - International students on a student visa must record their Permanent Home Address as being in their home country and are required to record an Australian semester residential address and local mailing address in mySI-net.
