Dear Student,

Failure to understand census date arrangements can be expensive. Some students enrol in more courses than they intend to take. They do not withdraw from their excess courses by the census date, by which time it is too late and they have larger than expected financial liability for the semester.
Please note the Trimester 3 2013 Census Date: Friday 4 October 2013
  • This is the last date for cancellation of your program or any of your courses without incurring HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP or Tuition Fee liability. Your enrolment must be final by Friday 4 October 2013.
  • If you are enrolled in a course from this date you will incur a financial liability for that course. It is essential your enrolment on mySI-net reflects the courses you are undertaking this trimester.
  • The University does not normally allow students to enrol or add courses after the census date. You should be aware that the University must charge full tuition fees to Commonwealth supported students who add courses after the census date. The University has no discretion to allow courses to be added on a Commonwealth supported basis after the census date.
Please ensure your enrolment details are correct by census date by checking your program and courses through mySI-net ( and following these few simple steps.
  1.  If you do not wish to study in trimester 3 2013 make certain you drop all your courses from your relevant program.
  2. Complete all your outstanding tasks on mySI-net by checking the boxes on the right-hand side of your mySI-net home page for outstanding items that need your attention. Failure to add required information here can prevent you finalising your enrolment.
  3. It is essential your mailing address and permanent home address and contact telephone number are correctly recorded on your my SI-net ‘Personal’ tab. Please check and update if required.
  4. Permanent Home Address must be your actual address. Post Office boxes; places of employment or University addresses are not acceptable.
  5. International students must record their Permanent Home address as being in their home country and are required to record an Australian semester residential address and local mailing address in mySI-net.
