The Examination Section is responsible for managing and administering central exams. Exam periods are set on an annual basis and may vary slightly, year to year.

Exams are typically scheduled as follows:

Summer - Final semester exams February 1 week
Mid-semester 1 exams March/April Held on three (3) Saturdays
Mid-semester 2 exams September Held on three (3) Saturdays
Semester 1 - Final exams June 2 weeks
Semester 2 - Final exams November 2 weeks
Semester 1 - Deferred & Supplementary exams July 4 days
Semester 2 - Deferred & Supplementary exams December 4 days

Examination Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that examinations are conducted in accordance with University policies and procedures.

Casual appointments are primarly during peak examination periods. Hours of work are based on a rostered shift allocation - Monday to Saturday - and are subject to University requirements.

Candidates who are a current student at any tertiary institution or employed full-time are ineligible to apply.

Pay rate

Exam Supervisors (also known as Invigilators) are paid a minimum of three hours for work performed on a calendar day.

  • Assistant Supervisors are rated as HEW Level 1.01
  • Chief Supervisors are rated as HEW Level 3.01
