(This message has been approved by the Academic Registrar for transmission to all students enrolled in courses delivered in Semester 1, 2017.)

Dear Student,

The University's enrolment records indicate you are currently enrolled in a course that is delivered in Semester 1, 2017. The following information is intended to assist you to manage that enrolment.

Please note the Semester 1 Census Date is Friday, 31 March 2017.

  • Your enrolment must be finalised by Friday, 31 March 2017.
  • Census date is the last date for cancellation of programs or courses without incurring HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP or tuition fee liability.
  • If you are enrolled in a course at midnight on the census date you will incur financial liability for the course.
  • If you drop courses after the census date but before 30 April 2017, you will incur financial liability but no academic penalty (i.e. you will not receive a grade for the course).
  • The University does not normally allow students to enrol or add courses after the census date. You should be aware that the University must charge full tuition fees to Commonwealth-supported students who are permitted to add courses after census date. The University has no discretion to allow courses to be added on a Commonwealth-supported basis after the census date.

Please ensure your enrolment details are correct by census date by checking mySI-net (http://www.my.uq.edu.au) and following these simple steps.

1. Drop all courses you do not wish to study in Semester 1, 2017.

2. Complete all your outstanding tasks on mySI-net by checking the boxes on the right-hand side of your mySI-net home page. Failure to add required information here can prevent finalisation of your enrolment.

3. Ensure that your mailing address, permanent home address and contact telephone number are correctly recorded on your mySI-net 'Personal' tab:

o Australian mobile numbers are preferred and should be recorded as 10 digits without gaps (eg 0412345678 not 0412 345 678 or 0412-345-678).

o Permanent home address must be your actual address. Post Office boxes, places of employment or University addresses are not acceptable.

o International students on a student visa must record their permanent home address as being in their home country and are required to record an Australian semester residentialaddress and local mailing address in mySI-net.
