(This message has been approved by the Academic Registrar for transmission to all students enrolled in courses delivered in Trimester 2, 2017.)

Dear Student,

The University's enrolment records indicate you are currently enrolled in Trimester 2, 2017. The following information is intended to assist you to manage that enrolment.

Failure to understand census date arrangements can be expensive. Some students enrol in more courses than they intend to take. They do not withdraw from their excess courses by the census date, by which time it is too late and they have larger than expected financial liability for the trimester.

·The final date to add or change your enrolment is Friday, 26 May 2017.

·Please note the Trimester 2, 2017 Census date is Friday, 9 June 2017.

·Census date is the last date to cancel courses without incurring HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP or tuition fee liability.

·If you are enrolled in a course at midnight on the census date you will incur financial liability for the course.

·If you withdraw from a course after census date and up until Friday, 7 July 2017 you will not incur academic penalty, but you will retain financial liability for the course.

·If you withdraw from a course after Friday, 7 July 2017 you will incur both academic penalty and financial liability. You may make an application to withdraw without academic penalty in exceptional circumstances.

·The University does not normally allow students to enrol in courses after the census date. Where late enrolment in a course is approved after the census date, Commonwealth Supported students are required to pay full tuition fees upfront and cannot access HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP for the course. The University has no discretion to allow courses to be added on a Commonwealth supported basis after the census date.

Please ensure your enrolment details are correct by census date by checking your program and courses through mySI-net (http://www.my.uq.edu.au) and following these few simple steps.

1.Drop all courses you do not wish to study in Trimester 2, 2017.

2.Complete all your outstanding tasks on mySI-net by checking the boxes on the right-hand side of your mySI-net home page. Failure to add required information can prevent finalisation of your enrolment.

3.If you wish to obtain a HELP loan, ensure you have provided your Tax File Number (TFN) on your HELP form via your mySI-net 'Financial' tab.

4.Ensure that your mailing address, permanent home address and contact telephone number are correctly recorded on your my SI-net 'Personal' tab.

·Australian mobile numbers are preferred and should be recorded as 10 digits without gaps (eg 0412345678 not 0412 345 678 or 0412-345-678).

·Permanent home address must be your actual address. Post Office boxes, places of employment or University addresses are not acceptable.

·International students on a student visa must record their permanent home address as being in their home country and are required to record an Australian semester residential address and local mailing address in mySI-net.
