Dear Student

The University's enrolment records indicate you are enrolled in a course that is delivered in Trimester 2, 2017. The following information is intended to assist you to manage that enrolment.

The final Trimester 2, 2017 examinations will be held in the week commencing Monday, 14 August and finishing Friday, 18 August.

n exam timetable will be sent to your UQ email account in week 11 of the trimester. Please note the examination timetable for your course/s may vary from your lecture and tutorial timetable. Please ensure that you check your UQ emails in the week prior to your examinations for any changes.

The date of official release of results is Friday, 25 August 2017.

Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty:

Please note: If you intend to withdraw without academic penalty from your course because your academic performance during the Trimester has been affected by ill health or other factors, you should submit our Application for Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty, with supporting documentation, to the Student Centre on your campus as soon as possible and prior to the release of your final results for the Trimester.

Applications for a retrospective change after the results have been finalised will be assessed against different criteria, which require you to have acted in a timely manner. Calculator use:

You will know from your Course Coordinators and/or electronic course profiles if a calculator is needed in your examinations. Your calculator must comply with what is listed on the front page of the examination paper or it will be confiscated. Where 'University approved calculator' is specified it must be from the Casio fx-82 series or must carry an official 'approved' label.

Please Note: Confiscation of a non-approved calculator, or distress caused by confiscation, will not be considered acceptable grounds for approval of a deferred examination. The approved calculator policy applies to all examinations (mid-semester and end of semester). If you have questions about this policy, please contact the Student Centre.

Deferred and Supplementary Examinations:

The deadline date for applying for a deferred examination is 5 calendar days from the scheduled date of the original examination. An application made on medical grounds must be accompanied by an original medical certificate signed by a medical practitioner or registered nurse no later than two (2) business days after the examination and stating that the student was unfit to sit the examination on the relevant day.

The deadline date for applying for supplementary assessment is 5 calendar days from official release of results.

There is no provision for an external sitting of a deferred/supplementary examination. All deferred/supplementary examinations are conducted at UQ College.

All students should also note that the University has no provision to grant students alternative deferred or supplementary examinations following those as previously arranged. Should you be approved a deferred or supplementary examination for Trimester 2, 2017 the examination will be held at a mutually convenient time for you and UQ College.

Alternative Arrangements for Examinations:

Students who require alternative arrangements for end-of-trimester examinations on the basis of special needs (disability), religious observance or timetable clashes are reminded to advise UQ College. Please refer to https://my.uq.edu.au/information-and-services/manage-my-program/exams-and-assessment/alternative-exam-arrangements for information and to download the request for alternative arrangements for examinations form. Completed forms should be submitted to UQ College.

In accordance with UQ Policy and Procedures Library PPL3.10.11b Section 5.5.3: https://ppl.app.uq.edu.au/content/examinations-procedures, students must advise of any requirement for special arrangements at least two weeks before the relevant examination date. Any students who do not provide UQ College with two weeks notice of requirements will need to sit for examinations under standard conditions.

Students requesting special arrangements on the basis of disability who have not previously registered with Student Services must contact a disability/learning adviser as soon as possible. Student Services can be contacted on 07 3365 1704. Recommendations must be finalised by Student Services so that UQ College is authorised to make the special arrangements requested.
