In some cases, it may be possible for University of Queensland students to sit their examinations off campus.

External or web-based courses
University of Queensland students who are enrolled externally are able to sit final examinations for these courses at approved off-campus exam centres.

Students are to ensure that their semester address as recorded in mySI-net is their residential address during the exam period, as they will be allocated to an external centre closest to this address.  The Examination Section will contact students via their UQ email to advise of arrangements for their external examinations.

Internally enrolled students are expected to be available to undertake their examinations at the times scheduled and at the campus where they normally attend classes.  If students reside within 200 kilometres of a UQ campus, it is expected that they will sit examinations on campus. If they cannot attend examinations on campus at the scheduled time, students may be eligible to apply for a Deferred Examination (Sign into mySI-net, Navigate to: myRequests>Deferred Examination Requests).

Off campus examinations are only available in the following cases:

    • Semester 1 Deferred and supplementary examination period for students in their final semester of study; and
    • Semester 2 Deferred and supplementary examinations.
Students must submit an Application by Internally Enrolled Student for Off Campus Examination to sit an examination off campus during these periods. Charges apply for internally enrolled students to sit their examination/s off campus if given approval. Each application will be considered on an individual basis by the Director, Student Administration.
